Ricardo Mazcal is a fourth-generation herbalist and holistic nutritionist with more than 50 years of experience in natural healing. Born into a family of traditional healers in northeast Nayarit, Mexico, Ricardo was raised in the ancient wisdom of Herbolaria Mexicana, the traditional Mexican practice of plant-based medicine. From a young age, he learned how to identify, harvest, and prepare medicinal plants passed down through generations of his family living in the high Sierra Madre.

Over the decades, Ricardo expanded his knowledge and practice by studying Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, working under master herbalists from India and China. This global foundation in holistic wellness allows Ricardo to blend ancient traditions with modern nutritional science, creating customized healing protocols that support the body, mind, and spirit.

In Puerto Vallarta, Ricardo is best known as the founder of Mazcal Naturally  a healing center and herbal apothecary located in the heart of the city. At Naturally Mazcal, he handcrafts a wide range of herbal tinctures, tonics, teas, essential oils, and nutritional blends—all made from carefully selected, organic, and sustainably sourced ingredients. Each product is formulated using his deep knowledge of plant energetics, with an emphasis on supporting the body’s natural detoxification, immunity, and regeneration processes.
